It’s important to select a well lit photo that is not blurry. Your engraving will only be as good as the photo you choose. If you choose a poor quality image than you can not expect good results and in some cases we may even refuse to process it. While we can normally do a bit of sprucing up, we can not perform miracles.
For best results, do not choose photos that are blurry, overly bright, washed out, dark or heavily shadowed.

The image on the right has an overly bright background, shadowed faces, and very
low resolution. The bottom image has good lighting but is way too blurry and also
has low resolution. These are NOT good choices.
You must also understand that thumbnails or photos from an online site like Facebook are usually uploaded at very low resolutions and will not work very well in most cases.
Images straight from your camera or cell phone are generally the best. If you scan
in your picture, please scan using a resolution of 300 -
If you are ordering more than one size plaque using the same image, you only need to scan it once in the size of the largest plaque you are ordering.
We can use most picture file formats in color or black and white. JPG, BMP, or TIFF, are preferred. If you edit your picture first, DO NOT save as JPG., use BMP
You may also choose to send your picture to us if you do not have access to a scanner and it will be returned with your order, or bring it into our shop if you are local. Please contact us if you need to use this option.
